Applications are invited from motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals wishing to pursue a career in Biomedical Science. Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or evidence that they are almost ready to do so.
Successful candidates will join our large team who perform a range of routine and specialist procedures in Microbiology producing results that aid in the diagnosis of disease and the treatment of patients. Microbiology within NHS Lothian is a very innovative laboratory, utilising a range of automation including a BD Kiestra Total Lab Automation system; one of their largest worldwide installations.
The post is based in the Bacteriology Laboratory at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh; however candidates may be expected to rotate to Bacteriology at St. John’s Hospital as part of their training.
Participation in the 24/7 working system will be expected as training progresses.
